Help with quotes, accounts, and supplier responses

Help Centre

Support is organised around real marketplace journeys: create job, get quotes, choose supplier, and win work.

Getting Started: Answers

What is Supplies United?+

Supplies United is a quote marketplace that connects buyers with relevant local suppliers. Buyers post one structured request and receive competing quotes they can compare by price, timing, and fit.

How it works for buyers and suppliers+

Buyers post a job once, then compare supplier responses in their account. Suppliers receive relevant local requests, choose which jobs to quote, and win work directly based on the quality and speed of their response.

Creating an account+

You can create an account from the Log in page or at the final submit step in the quote flow. If you are a supplier, you can also join via the Become a Supplier page.

Setting up your profile+

After signing in, use your account area to keep your contact details up to date and manage submitted jobs. Suppliers should keep business contact information accurate to avoid missing opportunities.

Choosing your role: buyer or supplier+

Choose buyer if you need quotes for a project. Choose supplier if you want to receive local work requests and submit quotes. You can enter through Get a quote (buyer) or Become a Supplier (supplier).

Posting a Job (Buyers): Answers

How to post a job+

Click Get a quote, select the job type, and complete each step with your requirements, location, and timing. You can finish the form first and create/sign in to your account at final submit.

What details to include for better quotes+

Provide clear dimensions, material preferences, project postcode, timeline, and any access or fitting notes. More specific details usually lead to faster and more comparable quotes.

How quickly you should expect responses+

Many requests get first responses within minutes, but timing depends on category, location, and supplier availability in your area.

Editing or deleting a job+

If you need changes after submission, open the job in My account and contact support to update or close the request while we expand self-serve editing controls.

Where your quotes appear+

All quote activity appears in My account > My jobs, where you can review each request and track responses.

Getting Quotes & Choosing Suppliers: Answers

How quote comparison works+

Suppliers respond to your posted brief, and you compare options by pricing, turnaround, and fit for your project requirements.

How suppliers are matched to your request+

We match using request category, project location, and supplier capability so your job is routed to relevant local suppliers.

Why quote prices differ+

Prices can vary based on material selection, cutout complexity, installation scope, lead time, and each supplier's current capacity.

How to evaluate speed vs price+

Start with your deadline and risk tolerance, then compare what is included in each quote, not just headline price. Fast turnaround with full scope can be better value than lowest cost with gaps.

What to do if you do not receive quotes+

Double-check project details for clarity, widen timing flexibility if possible, and contact support so we can help re-route the request.

Becoming a Supplier: Answers

How to join as a supplier+

Use Become a Supplier in the header, create your supplier account, and complete onboarding details so we can route suitable opportunities to you.

What jobs you will receive+

You receive relevant local requests aligned to your category and area coverage, including kitchen worktop, bathroom surface, and related fabrication jobs.

How matching works+

Matching considers location, request type, and supplier relevance. Not every supplier receives every job; routing prioritizes fit and response quality.

How to submit a quote+

Open the job request in your supplier workflow, review the brief, and submit your quote with price, scope, and expected timing.

Response time expectations+

Faster responses generally perform better. We recommend quoting as early as possible when the brief matches your capability and schedule.

Managing Quotes (Suppliers): Answers

Responding to job requests+

Open the request, review the brief, and respond with clear pricing, scope, and timing. Faster, well-structured responses generally perform better.

Editing a submitted quote+

If you need to adjust a submitted quote, contact support with the job ID and updated pricing/scope while self-serve supplier editing is being expanded.

What happens when you win a job+

Once selected, you coordinate next steps directly with the buyer based on the accepted scope and timeline shown in your quote.

Why your quote was not selected+

Common reasons include lead-time mismatch, price fit, missing scope details, or another supplier being a closer match for the request.

How to improve quote win rate+

Respond quickly, keep scope specific, highlight what is included, and align your timeline to buyer urgency. Clear and complete quotes tend to convert better.

Payments & Billing: Answers

How payments are handled+

Payment handling depends on the job arrangement and current platform setup. If platform-managed payments apply, details are shown in your account flow.

When suppliers get paid+

Supplier payout timing depends on the payment method and job completion terms. Where platform payouts apply, schedule details are shown in the payment terms.

Platform fees and commissions+

Any applicable fees or commissions are communicated clearly before commitment so both buyers and suppliers understand net terms.

Refunds and disputes+

If a dispute occurs, report it through support with job context and evidence. The platform reviews both sides and applies the relevant policy.

Invoices and records+

Keep quote and job references for every project. Where platform billing records apply, they are available in account/job history.

Trust, Safety & Quality: Answers

Supplier verification standards+

Supplies United aims to route requests to relevant, credible suppliers and continuously improves quality controls as the network grows.

Reporting bad behaviour+

Use support channels to report abusive conduct, misrepresentation, or unsafe behaviour with the job ID and relevant details.

What happens if a job goes wrong+

Raise the issue as soon as possible with clear evidence so the team can review the case and guide next steps under marketplace policy.

Dispute handling process+

Disputes are reviewed using the submitted brief, quote terms, and communication history to reach a fair resolution.

Reviews and quality signals+

Quote quality, response speed, and reliability indicators help buyers evaluate suppliers and help strong suppliers stand out.

Jobs & Matching: Answers

How marketplace matching works+

Requests are routed using job category, location, and supplier relevance so buyers receive useful quotes and suppliers see jobs aligned to their capability.

Why some suppliers do not see every job+

Not every supplier is shown every request. Matching prioritizes fit, service area, category relevance, and response quality to avoid low-quality spam routing.

Location coverage and service areas+

Coverage varies by job type and active supplier density. If your area has limited current supply, response volume may be lower until coverage expands.

Categories currently supported+

Current focus is stone/worktops and related surface/fabrication requests, with category expansion based on marketplace demand and supply liquidity.

How matching quality improves over time+

As more jobs and responses are processed, routing rules improve using relevance and outcome signals to better align buyers with the right suppliers.

Troubleshooting: Answers

Not receiving emails+

Check spam/junk folders, confirm your account email is correct, and whitelist platform sender domains. If issues continue, contact support with your account email.

Cannot sign in+

Verify email/password, try resetting credentials, and ensure you are using the correct account role flow. If still blocked, contact support for account recovery help.

Job not showing in your account+

Refresh your session and check My account > My jobs. If a recent submission is missing, share the approximate submit time and email with support.

Quote submission errors+

Review required fields, confirm your session is active, and retry submission. Persistent errors can be reported with screenshot and timestamp for faster debugging.

Other technical issues+

For any platform issue, contact support with your account email, device/browser, and a short description of the problem so we can investigate quickly.
